There are many reasons not to be able to get to a gym and work out: Stay-at-home moms have busy schedules. Professionals who travel cannot make it to the gym. Those who live in rural areas find that the gym is just too far away.

Would you like to hear about a new service that wipes out all of those excuses?

NavaFit is an online fitness service that offers live group classes. Now, in the comfort of your own home, you can work out with friends and certified fitness trainers. The concept is simple. Log in to the company website and use a webcam and a microphone to interact with fitness experts in real-time. The classes are interactive with users and instructors able to see and hear each other.

The company offers eight different classes taught by certified personal trainers with diverse health and fitness backgrounds. There are three yoga classes for beginners to advanced students; two pilates classes; a cardio resistance class that elevates your heart rate while toning your arms and legs; full body strength training, which is a circuit-style work out that targets every major muscle group; and tough and toned, a full body strength training session designed to sculpt your muscles using low weights and high repetitions.

Now open to the public, NavaFit offers a flexible schedule with multiple classes each day. You can even work out with your friends by logging in to the same class at the same time, which makes this concept so particularly effective for groups who have a similar weight loss goal. Additionally, people with disabilities who have a hard time accessing the gym will find it useful, as will anyone with time or mobility constraints.

To use NavaFit, you need a computer, webcam, headset and appropriate lighting. The program requires one of the following operating systems: Windows 7, Mac OSX 10.6 or later (Snow Leopard), Android Tablet or iPad2 Tablet. It can be used on a laptop or desktop computer or a tablet (The use of a Smartphone has not been tested.). For the Internet connection, any wireless network will work including 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi or WiMAX.

The company offers a free 14-day trial for new members, which allows the user to take up to four instructor-led classes at no cost. After the free trial ends, members can sign up for either the Gold or Platinum plans.

NavaFit was founded by Gavin Stewart, Byron Varlack and Darryl Hollar, a group of friends who went to college together in the early 1990s. They decided to use their expertise in personal training, healthcare, business and technology to help people start and maintain a fitness program. Eliminating the road blocks to good health and fitness is half the battle, and fortunately, the invention of NavaFit now helps smooth your own road to fitness success.
